In UHart’s Department of 英语与现代语言, you prepare for a successful career by developing critical reading 和 organizational skills, 研究技术, you’ll learn how to use your imagination in our 写作-intensive classes. Our faculty are award-winning teachers 和 published authors who take an interest in your work 和 get to know you well in our small class sizes.
英语 majors can choose from three areas of emphasis:

If you enjoy reading 和 thinking about great literature 和 写作 your own essays, 诗, 戏剧, 和故事, then a minor in 英语 can complement any program of study at UHart. There are two minor tracks in 英语. Membership in the Psi Phi chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the 国际 英语 Honor Society. is open to declared 英语 majors who meet high st和ards in terms of their classroom performance 和 their academic integrity. The Psi Phi chapter sponsors an annual lecture, 执行社区服务, offers 英语 majors various social opportunities during the school year.
