You will learn the basics of the major techniques and must achieve mastery in lithography and etching. Black-and-white and color processes are taught in all media within the program. You are also encouraged to pursue other areas of the printmaking curriculum, 比如救济, 单型, letterpress printing, 还有书籍艺术. The work will lead to your senior exhibition and help prepare you for graduate school or a career in printmaking and the arts.

讲座, 示威活动, and workshops with well-known visiting artists and master printers further enhance the curriculum, including the annual Hartford Print Workshop. This workshop brings in artists who work with students and master printers to create editioned prints in the 有 printmaking studios. One print from each of the resulting editions printed during this workshop are later housed in the 海伦年代. Kaman Print Study Center.

After your foundation year, this program guides you through a series of independent studios and printmaking intensives. You must complete 77–80 studio credits for your major, plus 45–46 academic credits.

Jenny Haskins ‘13 currently represents the New Britain Museum of American Art for the Connecticut Art Trail. She collaborates with other institutions in developing marketing initiatives, and coordinates social media campaigns. Whether you want to be a gallery artist, 一个老师, or arts administrator, a degree in printmaking will help connect you with the greater art community.
